Our Notaries
Kate Roome is a true Cowichan local, representing the fourth generation of her family in this beautiful community. After pursuing education in Victoria and Toronto, she returned home. Kate brings a wealth of diverse experiences, including careers as a horse massage therapist and award-winning Realtor to her Notarial practice. Now, as a Notary Public, Kate is dedicated to helping clients find peace of mind, whether they are buying or selling a home or planning for their future. She is very passionate about the well-being of her community. When not in the office, you’ll find Kate volunteering on the boards of local non-profits, hiking or horseback riding.
Alexandra (Allie) Johnston had the privilege of growing up in the beautiful Cowichan Valley and completed her university education in Victoria where she now resides. She worked for a variety of organizations from tourism to local government before pursuing work as a legal assistant. Allie is thrilled to be back serving her home community as a Notary Public and looks forward to bringing her clients comfort and reassurance through her estate planning practice. During her free time, Allie enjoys reading and travelling with friends.

Staci Nelson, Senior Conveyancer, has a 30 plus year proven track record for completing even the most challenging of transactions. Her expertise is second to none. When she’s not at the office you’ll find Staci travelling the world, watching hockey and baseball, or relaxing at the Lake with a good book.
Sandy Pike, Estate Planning Assistant, keeps the estate and personal planning practice running smoothly. An excellent communicator and organization wizard, her passion for helping clients is only eclipsed by her smile. When she’s not at work, Sandy is often found out in the woods, on the ocean or in her garden.
Birkley Anderson, Receptionist and Legal Assistant, is always happy to greet our clients, answer questions and keep appointments flowing. You might be surprised to learn that Birkley plays professional field hockey in her spare time!
The Furry Employee
When you visit our downtown Duncan office, you’ll be warmly greeted by our resident office dog, Maisey. This friendly, medium-sized dog loves kids and adds a touch of home to our office. If your service dog will attend your appointment or if you have any concerns about meeting Maisey, please let us know beforehand so we can make appropriate arrangements.
